For Fairy Tail fans, the announcement of an anime series based on the spinoff manga 100 Years Quest is exciting news! Fairy Tail fans may have been feeling pessimistic at the beginning of 2021, given how popular the series has become. With Mashima’s “Edens Zero,” his spiritual successor project, things began to look up for the brand in the Spring of 2013.
Finally, after more than a year since the Fairy Tail anime ended, a new title based on the 100 Years Quest spin-off manga has been announced!
How Long Have People Been Wondering About Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest?
Japanese manga artist Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is a follow-up to the wildly famous Fairy Tail series. The series began publication in Japan in July 2018 and has now expanded to nine volumes and 90 chapters.
The latest two volumes, due out on September 28th and December 14th, will bring the total number of books released in English to seven.
The manga can be read in English on the American Kodansha website. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop, and Penguin Random House are just a few of the online retailers that sell the series in print and electronic form.
What is the purpose of the 100-year quest?
To continue the storey that Natsu, Lucy, Happy, and Erza began in Fairy Tail but were unable to complete in the previous century, the 100 Years Quest series picks up a year later.
FAIRY TAIL: ANIME ADAPTATION IS DESPERATELY NEEDEd
The anime version of 100 Years Quest was officially unveiled during a fan meeting with Hiro Mashima on September 11th in Japan.
Fans may expect A-1 Pictures, the production company behind the original and OVA, to produce the anime spin-off, despite the lack of details so far.
100 Years Quest’s anime voice cast has not been announced, however, it is assumed that the original cast will return to reprise their roles. As Natsu, Aya Hirano portrays Lucy, Rie Kugimiya takes on the role of Happiness, and Sayaka Ohara portrays Ezra, the ensemble cast features Tetsuya Kakihara.
THE RELEASE DATE FOR THE 100 YEARS QUEST IS UNKNOWN.
There is no official release date for Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest’s anime adaptation, but we can speculate based on the production of Edens Zero, which Mashima also worked on.
Edens Zero was officially announced in June of 2020 and premiered in April of 2021 on Japanese television.
100 Years Quest could return to Earth Land as soon as July 2022 if the production timeline is similar to that of the previous season.
It’s only possible that A-1 Productions or Satellite Studios, both of which worked on prior anime in the series, are the animation studios. They may prioritise other projects, such as Sword Art Online and Sakugan. This is a problem.
There will be updates on Fairy Tai: 100 Years Quest as soon as further information becomes available.
