A new event mode, called Jumpman Zone, has been added to Fortnite as a result of a new collaboration between the game and Air Jordan. A new jumpstyle event is coming to Fortnite thanks to a partnership with the Jordan brand, one of many crossovers in the game. There are a number of ways in which the game’s crossovers with other media, such as the launch of a Nick Fury skin for Fortnite on November 25, are a reflection of how large the game has grown, including its influence on fashion.
When it comes to working with prominent celebrities, this isn’t the first time Fortnite has done so—far from it! Some of the most-viewed content in gaming history has been created by popular musicians like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande, who have played virtual concerts in the game. Fortnite has collaborated with a variety of high-profile brands, including the Air Jordan apparel firm in 2019. Last month, Epic Games announced a partnership with French fashion company Moncler to introduce two outfits inspired by Moncler into the game, as well as other things, such as a hat, a backpack, and a helmet. Fortnite has teamed up with a variety of new and established companies to bring gamers new ways to look and play in the game.
Now, Epic Games and Jordan Brand have launched a new collaboration, which includes new events and outfits. You can check out the new crossover footage on Fortnite’s YouTube channel. Players will be able to visit the “Jumpman Zone” at 7 p.m. ET on December 1, where portals will lead them to a new set of tasks and rewards. To celebrate the December 11 release of the Air Jordan XI “Cool Grey” shoes, an in-game scavenger hunt will provide gamers with a new skin inspired by the shoes. The MVP chambers, which contain a museum of past Air Jordan releases, a basketball court, and an immersive video promoting the Air Jordan XI “Cool Grey,” will then be unlocked. Like the Balenciaga hoodie skin partnership just a few months ago, Fortnite continues to remain on top of the newest fashion trends in the gaming industry.
Additionally, this cooperation features trickshot tasks that, when successfully completed, grant access to exclusive Hangtime and Swish ensembles, which will be accessible in the in-game store as soon as the Jumpman Zone becomes live. The “Deep In The Paint” spray will be given to players who complete 12 or more trickshot challenges before 2 p.m. ET on December 4, and a Hall of Fame area will offer even more difficult challenges for those who want to really put their skills to the test. As a prelude to the 11th, the Jumpman Zone will feature prominently but will remain accessible afterwards with a code.
In order for Fortnite to keep attracting new fans, it will need to cooperate with high-profile businesses. According to a recent leak, the next movie, Matrix: Resurrections, will have skins based on Neo and Trinity from The Matrix. Thus Fortnite will have plenty of possibilities to market itself alongside other huge brands in the coming years. This isn’t Fortnite’s final chance to show off some high-end apparel.
