A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild gamer masterfully reproduced the creepy entrance to the Lost Woods from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This week, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons user posted a work that fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would recognise: a reproduction of the game’s ominous Lost Woods entrance. The Animal Crossing community’s inventiveness is on display once again with this iconic game crossover. Gamers have gone to the internet since the game’s 2020 launch to post complex designs and recreations of their favourite pop culture destinations; now, with the game’s current 2.0 update and release of the DLC Happy Home Paradise, ACNH players now have even more stuff to decorate with.
With over 9,000 new ACNH goods added to New Horizons as part of the 2.0 update, players now have a far larger selection of items to buy and make. These changes have given players a plethora of new design options, allowing them to decorate their towns in a variety of different ways. The Lost Woods is an important location in Breath of the Wild because it protects the Korok Forest, where Link can obtain the legendary Master Sword. The Lost Woods are shrouded in fog, and the player must navigate through them carefully, or they will be sent back to the entrance.
This week, Twitter user naydinfar paid tribute to Breath of the Wild with a fantastic replica of the Lost Woods. The user was able to properly mimic the creepy, gloomy mood of the entrance with rotting trees and a crumbling stone arch using new Animal Crossing DIY recipes. The surrounding region is littered with expertly arranged weeds, with flowering weeds put precisely where comparable flowers appear in Breath of the Wild. To add to the atmosphere of their shot, navdinfar waited to photograph their Zelda-costumed character on a day when it was snowing and foggy on their island, simulating the Lost Woods’ in-game environment.
naydinfar says in their caption that they’re “hoping to hear some sequel news during the [Game] [Awards], which airs on December 9.” More details regarding the Breath of the Wild sequel are expected to be released at the Game Awards, which fans of the series have been waiting for since the game’s debut at E3 in 2019. In recent years, the awards event offered surprise game announcements, some of which were from Nintendo, giving fans hope that they’ll finally learn more about the series’ future.
This amazing fan creation is a beautiful tribute to both Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing lovers. While Animal Crossing already has a large community of creators who share their work, the current update and its new item additions appear to encourage players to be even more creative than before. Animal Crossing: Fresh Horizons fans are constantly coming up with new and creative ways to decorate their islands more than a year after the game’s release.
