Deep Insanity THE LOST CHILD Episode 8 explains the mystery behind the assassination mission. Xo and the group went on an assassination mission that failed. Xo has a confrontation, and a guy from the enemy’s side fights with him. The group was ordered to assassinate El-Cee, the Child of God, but the guy from another side interfered with the job. Xo suggested they should retreat, but Vera ordered them to continue with the task. From Deep Insanity THE LOST CHILD’s latest episode, Kai witnessed Xo get shot and questioned who shot him.
The crew head to the spot and recover Xo’s body, then head to the HQ. The guy from the enemy’s side meets with Naidan and talks about the incident. But he reminded her that he was not giving up on his mission since the boss commanded him to protect the Child of God. The person travels to the street and talks with the inhabitants, assuming that they may give him hints concerning the Child of God. Vera meets Kai and the rest of the crew at the HQ, and the undertaker arrives with Xo’s corpse.
Vera tells the undertaker where she has to send Xo’s body, and the undertaker talks about retrieving Xo’s equipment as his family wants to grieve his death. She tells Kai to meet her later. The crew proceeded them the living room. No one was interacting with each other, and Xo’s family lamented his death. The undertaker arrives and asks Kai about Xo’s locker room. Kai showed her and chose to work with her. The undertaker is delighted that Kai is helping and she is not used to that since the Sleepers from the past are different, and they don’t act like that after death.

Kai understands that Xoi suppressed information about the mission and asks why they didn’t flee. He meets with Larry, Kobata, and Sumire and talks about the mystery underlying Xo’s death. Kai learns that the Sleepers go on after death, and there is no need to lament the comrade’s death since it will betray their weakness as soldiers. He also finds that after death, they take a break of four days and return to a new assignment, and another individual will be recruited to fill Xo’s place.
Kai receives a call from Vera, and he meets with him at her office. Vera warns Kai that the assassination job has to be accomplished within a few days. Kai assumed they were abandoning the mission since it caused Xo’s death, but Vera disagrees and urges him to listen to the orders. He wonders what is so significant about the mission, and Vera concedes that the mission is necessary. Kai wonders if she cares about Xo’s death, and she discloses that she cares, but life has to move on since they can’t carry on grieving and they have to work to protect everyone.
In the streets, the guy from enemies sides threatens the citizens and tells them to divulge the truth about the Child of God. The citizens didn’t worry about his threat even though he used a gun and told him that they didn’t know. Hotep is with the crew and guards at the opposite side, and one of the soldiers carrying Child of God tells them that she is asleep and fine. Hotep is delighted that Child of God is under their custody. Back at the office, Kai had a debate with Vera regarding the goal and thought that they couldn’t continue as they were heartbroken.
