When thinking about such an anime protagonist, one that comes to mind is Goku Kakarot. Goku is a character from the renowned anime Dragon Ball series. He made his debut appearance on the last page of the manga dubbed “Dr. Slump” as a promotion for the upcoming Dragon Ball manga. Goku was presented as a monkey-tailed boy with incredible strength and prowess in martial arts.
Although Dragon Ball is the initial part, it is the second part – Dragon Ball Z that has given this Anime more fame, and we can see why. It is a part featuring spectacular bouts, surprising entrants, and one with the greatest character changes — Super Saiyan. Since Goku’s parents were Bardock and Gine, who were both Saiyans from the Planet Vegeta, this meant that he, too, is a Saiyan. Although he is a low-class Saiyan, Goku is a character who enjoys training. He even began gaining muscles from an early age. He also loves facing tough opponents and battle. Throughout the Dragon Ball idea, we witness Goku go to extraordinary measures to overcome the antagonists.

During this confrontation between Goku and Frieza, the latter was hit by a tremendous Spirit Bomb set off by Goku, which may have been a devastating blow for everyone. Luckily, Goku and Piccolo survive this, along with Gohan and Krillin. After a breath of relief, the members present — Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin – resolve to leave Namek to find Bulma.
However, for the worst, we see that Frieza was still alive. Although with injuries, he was willing to enter into a conflict again. He started by blasting Piccolo with his death beam. Sensing the gravity of the situation, Goku tells his son Gohan to find Bulma and flee to Earth with Krillin and Piccolo. However, in order to prove his powers, Frieza assaults Krillin by using his energy inside Krillin and blowing him apart. This was Goku’s final straw to make him go insane. While Gohan began quivering at what transpired, Goku looked cool while his fury mounted. This caused the grounds to shake around him, and he unconsciously began shifting. Suddenly, the incredibly enraged Goku glowed in yellow light, and this was a time where we all rejoiced.
The combat that befell following this change is regarded one of the most epic bouts in the Dragon Ball Z series.
Is Goku the only one able to turn into Super Saiyan?
The short answer is no!
Although Goku’s Super Saiyan is seen often from this point on, we can see other characters achieve this change too.
