Although Fire Force is nearing the end of its arc, that does not imply Atsushi Kubo will be gentle with us. This identical statement was stated in last week’s post for Kubo’s hit series’ chapter 291. Recap Chapter 291
Before we dive into chapter 292 spoilers, let’s take a moment to recall what happened in the most recent chapter of the series.
As seen in Chapter 290, Shinra succumbs to his wrath and rushes at Haumea regardless of the fact that he is unable to hit her. Shinra assaults her repeatedly, despite the fact that he is well aware that none of his attacks will land. Unbeknownst to him, his rage-fueled strikes are threatening to bring the world to an end.
Returning to Earth, we see hopelessness begin to sweep over the world; with the last human hope, Captain Obi, murdered and the Saviour Shinra reverting to devil mode, the populace is left with nothing but dread. The catalyst can now commence as a result of the heightened sadness. We watch as both civilians and fan-favorite figures are consumed by the catalyst’s flames.
Shinra then pauses for a little moment to look down on Earth, where he witnesses his companions being burned to death. Shinra believes there is nothing left to fight for after witnessing this. As he succumbs to sorrow as well. Increasing the fuel supply to the catalyst to the point that it can blanket the entire globe. By the chapter’s conclusion, Earth has devolved into a ball of black flames.
Chapter 292 Contains Spoilers
Now that we’re all caught up, let’s jump straight into the spoilers for chapter 292. Warning, however, while some raws for the future chapter have already been released, there are verified spoilers below.
This chapter picks off directly where the last one left off. Shinra appears to succumb to despair, hitting Haumea as he erupts with rage. Following that, we see Shinra hurry forward and cry something out as he attempts to assault Haumea once more, but he is quickly struck in the head before he can strike.
Unaware of who attacked him Shinra wanders aimlessly until a voice calls out to him. Shinra laments that it hurts a lot as he understands who attacked him; we then cut to who struck Shinra over the head. It is none other than Arthur Boyle, the knight, a fan favourite who many believed was long dead.
We see Arthur conversing with his sword Excalibur, which can seemingly communicate. We also see Arthur up in orbit, where we last saw him, which is the ideal setup given that Arthur was not on Earth during the time of despair, indicating that he remains unaffected and likely the only human alive. However, the most bizarre aspect of all of this is that Arthur is entire and intact in the raws. However, if you recall our last encounter with Arthur, he was drifting into the sun with his entire lower torso severed.
As a result, it is now unknown whether Arthur is still alive. Although some claim that Arthur’s soul has been transferred to Excalibur, his weapon. Which appears to be the Arthur we will see in the next chapter; despite the fact that his body has been destroyed, Arthur’s soul continues to battle. Please keep in mind that this is neither official nor confirmed, but rather what we are guessing based on the panels we have seen thus far and the few available fan translations.
After Arthur calms Shinra, he appears and reveals himself to her, including how he is still alive. Haumea appears to close the chapter by calling Shinra and Sho’s hellish mother from the Adolla area. The chapter concludes with the two children finally seeing their mother, although in demon form.

Chapter 292 of Fire Force is scheduled to be released in Japan on Sunday, November 21st, 2021. If any changes are made to this timetable, we will ensure that this page is updated.
Black Cat Scanlations, the translators responsible for the majority of the English translations for Fire Force, has closed their doors. As a result, it is unknown how long it will take for translations of Fire Force and the other other mangas they covered to be released. We’ll just have to wait and see who picks up Fire Force and when the translated chapters will be released.
