Fans have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter of DBS, dubbed “Gas’ Wish,” because last month’s chapter saw Goku’s father for the first time in action. Granolah’s reaction to what truly happened 40 years ago, and perhaps him and Goku teaming up like their parents before them, will be seen here. Whether or if they can win is the issue. To add insult to injury, what are the Heeter’s doing with Dragon Balls?
Everything you need to know about the future chapter, including spoilers and publication dates is here.
Chapter 77: A Recap
Before we go into spoilers for chapter 78, here’s a quick reminder of what happened in the previous chapter.
Monaito’s flashback storey continues in Chapter 77, titled “Bardock, Father of Goku.” They begin by depicting a peaceful coexistence between the Cerealian civilization and a few Namekians residing on planet Cereal. Frieza’s army of Saiyans came from space pods and turned into their giant ape forms on a full moon one night. After the Namekans were collected up and killed, only Monaito escaped by fleeing to the mountain with the Dragon Balls and hiding out there.
When it came to the Cerealians, they did their best to fight back, but the Saiyans’ giant ape shapes proved to be too much for them, and they destroyed their moon to get rid of them. Cerelian mother and kid are taken to the mountains by Bardock at the last minute, where he can experience sentient life.
Once they’ve arrived to Monaito’s hut, Bardock warns them that Frieza is on his way. There’s another formidable group of people that Bardock detects. The Heeters are scheming to sell the planet, and they’re keeping an eye on them from the trees. Bardock’s tail caught the eye of a young Granolah, who screamed in fright and screamed Saiyan. Saiyan soldiers are waiting for the Heeters to arrive, ready to slay a Namekian and a pair of Cerelians.
Elec kills the mother and urges Bardock to hurry up and finish the job. Bardock then unleashes a tiny ki blast on the Heeters and uses the commotion to flee. Elec and Gas are shown aboard the ship in the present, and Elec asks Gas whether he’s thinking about the past. Elec is assured by Gas that he will never again be subjected to this level of humiliation. Elec, holding a Dragon Ball, tells Gas, “No, you won’t.”
On their way to search for the final Dragon Ball, the Heeters take out on their spacecraft in the final chapter of the storey
Spoilers for the upcoming chapter 78.
Here we go: spoilers for chapter 78, which we’ve just finished reading. Some raws for the future chapter have already been released, thus you’ve been warned about spoilers below.
When the Saiyans and Granalah have stopped battling, the head of the Heeter’s, Elec, gives his crew orders. During the conversation between Erec and Monaito, Erec sends Gas, Macki, and Oil away in an attempt to kill the weakened trio. As Erec explains, he will make Gas’s wish come true before the three of them take on the two Saiyans.
Elec reassures Gas and urges him to go, promising him that he would definitely achieve his goal of being a professional hockey player. In response to Gas saying he doesn’t mind how he is right now, Elec says that this is the only way to ensure they achieve their goal. Elec informs Gas that the entire strategy hinges on him before sending him go, to which Gas says that he gets it. Invoking the wish-granting dragon of Cereal, Toronbo, Elec summons
Next, we see Granaloh reacting to Monaito’s tale, along with Goku and Vegeta, in the following chapter.
She takes the elderly Namekian and begins to rant at him, enraged that he sat by and let him to work for his mother’s assassins for the previous two years. He is a Namekian. Namekian informs Granolah that this was the only way they could survive and that he should understand after Goku swiftly pulls Granolah away. The Cerealian begins to weep as he recalls how he was abused for decades by those individuals.
Suddenly, the sky darkens and he is unable to regain his composure. The gang recognises this as a summoning of a dragon and begins to search for the source. When we return to Elec, we discover him summoning Toronbo, the wish-granting dragon of planet Cereal. Goku and Vegeta watch as the darkness fades and a person falls to the ground near them. Gas reappears in a new form from the ashes.
Goku, Vegeta, and Granola are about to meet their maker when Macki thanks them for their years of service and sends Gas to kill them all. Granolah’s ship gets sliced in half by a ki beam fired by Gas, despite his best efforts to avoid it. Once the spear is launched, Granolah finds himself pinned against one half of his ship by the four-pointed weapon, with no way out of it. As Gas closes in on Granolah, he quips that they don’t need him anymore because he never liked him in the first place.
Despite Goku’s best efforts to hurry in and help Gas, Gas uses weighted cubes to bind Goku to the ground. That particular Saiyan, Gas says, “looks like you.” He wonders whether that Saiyan is still alive. A few Saiyans are left, thanks to Frieza’s annihilation of the majority of the race. Once he’s made an axe, Gas tells the two Saiyans that he’ll just finish off the trash Frieza left behind and then proceeds to hack apart Goku.
After Monaito freed him from the spear, Granolah dives back in before he can land the final blow. Even though Granolah knows that he is the strongest in the universe, Gas reminds him that it’s pointless because Granolah is still the strongest. Granolah is attacked by Gas, who then makes a spiked mace and begins swinging it at him. Granolah somehow holds his position as Gas continually attacks him with the mace.
While all of this is going on, Monaito comes up to Goku and frees him, all the while expressing his concern. Going so far as to say that Goku should have faced Elec regardless of the consequences. Following his liberation, the Namekian also informs Goku, “You’re just another useless Namekian.” In response to Vegeta telling Goku to go eat the bean he had, Goku has an idea. Regardless of where Goku’s armour is, Vegeta reminds him that the bean was in there. Then, while holding back Gas, Goku urges him to go find it so he can morph into his new terrifying face form.
After that, Goku and Gas resume their battle, with Goku now somewhat recovered. At this point, Gas’s weapons have been destroyed and the two characters are now engaged in a full-scale gunfight. After finding his armour and the senzu bean, Vegeta returns to where Granolah is knocked out and tells him to eat it, instead of eating it himself. Despite Granolah’s entreaties, Vegeta refuses to eat it, informing the Cerealian that this is his war and not his.
A strong hit from Gas forces Goku to return to his normal form as Granolah and Vegeta chat. Having eliminated Goku and Vegeta, the two best fighters in the universe will now go head-to-head for the first time. Granolah’s mother’s vengeance will be exacted, too.
