My Hero Academia: What Himiko Toga’s MBTI Says About the Villain

MHA’s Himiko Toga is a vicious and insane villain who chases Pro Heroes she professes to love. Her MBTI personality type reflects this.
My Hero Academia imagines a peculiar future where supernatural Quirks are a part of life, but they impact more than simply a person’s capacity to fight crime or breathe fire. Quirks typically define the mentality and lifestyle of their wielders, and sadly, some start their owners on the path of villainy from an early age. Tomura Shigaraki and Himiko Toga are instances of this.
Himiko was once a typical junior high student who craved for blood to feed her Transform Quirk, ultimately cracking and killing a classmate on graduation day. Now she walks free with the League of Villains, and it’s her mission to locate an idol, mimic them, then smear them in blood. What is Himiko’s MBTI personality type, and how does she exhibit it in My Hero Academia?
Himiko Toga’s MBTI Personality Type: ESFP-A, The Entertainer
MHA’s Himiko Toga is a dark variant of the ESFP-A personality type, or the Entertainer with a forceful streak. Entertainers are impulsive, fun-loving and emotionally sensitive people who so typically perform well in creative endeavors, such as acting or presenting a talk show. Himiko, though, wouldn’t host a chat show or star in a sitcom. She is a yandere, an aggressive lover who would hunt a love interest and hurt anybody who gets in her way. Yanderes can occasionally be Entertainers but with features of obsession and jealously, combined with compassion and sensitivity for others.

The ESFP-A personality type stands for Extraverted Observant Feeling Prospecting Assertive, suggesting Himiko is a people person who thrives in a busy social life full with adventure and creative endeavors. Entertainers like her perceive everything as a live performance and crave for attention, acceptance, friendship and affection from others.
Despite this desire for attention and fulfillment, Entertainers like Himiko aren’t fully self-absorbed — they are also well attuned to the needs and feelings of others, and are often empathic and kind. They also prefer to avoid major disagreement, and don’t always plan ahead or establish sophisticated plans for their schooling, career or life in general. Entertainers could also look restless and impatient in the view of more introverted MBTI personality types.
Himiko Toga As An ESFP-A In My Hero Academia
In My Hero Academia, Himiko Toga is a wicked Entertainer, a hedonistic and whimsical evil who would stalk, injure and threaten people for the purpose of her own enjoyment. Longing for approval and enjoyment, Himiko felt smothered by what she viewed as rigid and harsh laws of society. She longed so much to show her need for blood and love, and this separated her from everyone after she left junior high school.

From that point on, she embraced the absolute freedom the League of Villains could afford, enabling her wild and merciless methods as a dark Entertainer. Himiko operates on her own choice, only lightly following Shigaraki’s or Kurogiri’s directions while functioning as a villain. She whimsically assaulted Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui at the woodland training camp, and suddenly fell in love with the bloodstained Izuku Midoriya when she lay eyes on him. She also acquired a crush on Ochaco about that time and has been obsessed over them ever since, desiring to learn about them, become like them, then murder them. To Himiko, her evil job isn’t to alter the world or make a statement — she wants love and joy, nothing more.

Himiko is also very aware of other people, evident in her capacity to completely grasp another person’s behavior and interests before emulating them, which she did to Shiketsu student Camie Utsushimi. In addition, Himiko empathized strongly with the psychologically distressed Twice and soothed him as a fellow exile from society. Only extraverted personalities such as an Entertainer could have done that.

Later in My Hero Academia, Himiko refused to compromise who or what she is by desperately battling the Meta Liberation Army to maintain her privacy and independence. She is determined to live her life by her own standards and pursue pleasure on her own terms, and would sooner death than be caught or become someone’s servant. As an Entertainer, Himiko is the star of her own evil show, and she won’t let the performance finish until she is ready.
