Naruto’s female transformation was a ridiculous gag early in the series, but one Cosplay artist has taken that famous form and made it their own. Though Naruto has many formidable jutsu in his repertoire, his first is still one of his most memorable, and it just provided as inspiration for an outstanding new cosplay.
Given the series’ immense popularity, it’s little wonder it would inspire so many cosplay artists. The series’ diverse range of characters has inspired innumerable fans, and one simply demonstrated their enthusiasm for the series with a great deal of inventiveness.
Given the crucial role that shinobi play in Naruto’s world, it’s no wonder that the magical jutsu they perform are prevalent. While most are intended to be utilized in the series’ epic conflicts, Naruto’s most infamous technique is significantly more infantile.
Debuting in chapter 1 of Naruto by Misashi Kishimoto, the sensual jutsu technique sees Naruto turn into a naked woman with clouds providing convenient coverage. Stemming from his abrasive demeanor as a child, Naruto would use this tactic as a diversion. Naruto utilized the technique a few of times over the manga’s first half, even iterating on it by employing his Shadow Clones to make the technique even more efficient.
Given the purposely salacious nature of the process, it’s no surprise that this transformation is a frequent subject for cosplay artists. In a photoshoot, cosplay artist Akoamy Cosplay showed her rendition of the technique. The picture, shot by cosplay photographer Nekolife, portrays Akoamy head-on looking at the viewer with confidence. Though the costume is obviously a riff on Naruto’s Sexy Jutsu, Akoamy adds more than a few of her own embellishments to make it really stand out.
The fishnet top is instantly reminiscent of the one that Naruto’s eventual wife, Hinata, wears under her jacket. The bandana around the neck also feels like a direct tribute to Hinata. All of it comes together to create the cosplay truly something amazing. The fact that this cosplay artist was able to celebrate two characters in such a subtle and enjoyable way is a testament to the ingenuity that goes into the art form. It also demonstrates a thorough comprehension of Naruto’s character.
Though the transformation he conjured as a young man was probably based on the juvenile conceptions of sexuality he’d find in the nasty magazines he frequently stole, this cosplay could indicate that an older Naruto would find his wife much more attractive than the pinups of his childhood.
The cosplay community is clearly a creative one, and that’s on full display here. Though Naruto’s erotic jutsu never looks quite like this in the actual series, it’s not impossible to see Naruto inventing something like this in his later years. He might be Hokage and a family man, but there’s always going to be a little amount of immaturity to him. Akoamy’s Naruto cosplay perfectly displays this side of the character while also delivering something totally original.
