In addition to Zero’s Teatime and The Culprit Hanzawa, two spin-off series from the legendary Detective Conan/Case Closed franchise, anime adaptations of Zero’s Teatime and The Culprit Hanzawa are currently in development. The two initiatives are part of Detective Conan’s 100th volume celebrations, which will be released on October 18th.
On the basis of the manga of the same name by Gosho Aoyama, Investigator Conan follows the exploits of high school detective Shinichi Kudo, who has been poisoned by the mysterious Black Organization and has the appearance of a child. Zero’s Teatime is a manga series written and illustrated by Takahiro Arai that shows the everyday life of popular detective Toru Amuro and each of his three guises.
Meanwhile, Mayuko Kanba’s The Culprit Hanzawa is a parody manga that follows the silhouette figure that serves as a stand-in for the mysterious “criminal” in the main Detective Conan manga. It is available in English and Japanese.
Details on the project’s cast, crew, and release date will be revealed as they become available.
