For those hoping for native copies of the series’ 10 games on the hybrid platform, it will be even more challenging to get their hands on them, thanks to Nintendo’s streamable Cloud service.

In a recent interview, Ichiro Hazama, the game’s producer, addressed the prospect of non-Cloud versions of the ported Kingdom Hearts titles on the Switch.

Hazama told Nintendo Life that the development of a local version is “undecided” at the moment. However, “we are always thrilled to hear from our fans and want to thank them for all their support,” said Square Enix in a statement about the game’s Cloud edition.

Various people had different feelings when they heard about the Kingdom Hearts Cloud versions. The fact that the ports were Cloud Versions disappointed many fans looking forward to playing Sora’s adventure on the Nintendo Switch without being continually connected to the internet.

When pressed on the decision, Hazama said that transferring the titles to the Switch was “very challenging for different reasons,” citing the console’s “storage capacity” as one factor in particular.

The Cloud Versions of Kingdom Hearts games on the Nintendo Switch aren’t the only ones, as the service has been used to move several AAA titles to the platform.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Hitman 3, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy are just a few instances of noteworthy games.

Although players can try out Cloud Versions for free before acquiring a subscription, no Cloud Version of a game can be played without an internet connection.

It was confirmed that ten Kingdom Hearts games would be coming to Nintendo Switch at an as-yet-unspecified date during the announcement of Sora as the final DLC character for Super Smash Bros.

Ultimate earlier this month. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + ReMix will be available in bundles. It’s possible to buy each collection alone or as part of the Integrum Masterpiece collection.

Super Nintendo 3DS XL Enhanced Edition And the original Kingdom Hearts and Re: Chain of Memories, Re: coded and Birth by Sleep, the ReMix also includes Re: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II.
