Tezuka Productions’ Adachi to Shimamura is a yuri slice-of-life anime. To pass the time and divert herself, Sakura Adachi sits upstairs in the school gym to give the time and amuse herself in the novels written by Hitomi Iruma, which are based on Sakura Adachi.
She meets Hougetsu Shimamura, another student who is notorious for skipping class and showing up late. Ping-pong becomes their first pastime, and they end up spending a lot of time together as a result. They both decide to go back to school at some point.
As a result of these encounters, Adachi finds it difficult to communicate her true sentiments to Shimamura, who views Adachi as nothing more than a buddy.
Fans have been wondering since the anime’s first season ended in October 2020 whether season 2 will be released.

Adachi to Shimamura: Is there enough content for a second season?
Today, most anime is produced to adapt to another medium, such as manga, light novels, or video games.
Adachi To Shimamura’s inspiration came from a light novel. We have to see how many volumes are currently available, how many have been adapted in the previous season, and whether or not the series is still running.
There may be a few volumes available. As with Redo of Healer Season 2, an ongoing series has a better possibility of earning a sequel.
Adachi To Shimamura has nine light novel volumes available in Japan right now. After more than a decade of publication, the Rui Tsukiyo light novel series will conclude on October 10, 2020, with a new volume released every 6-8 months on average.
There is good news for the anime series with the active distribution of the novel. Additionally, a manga adaptation by Mani has been published in Square Enix’s Gangan Online Magazine from April 2016 and is currently available.
Adachi To Shimamura’s first season adapted the first four volumes, leaving us with enough substance for a second 12-episode season from the remaining five volumes.
When can we expect the second season of Adachi to Shimamura to air?
Season 2 of Adachi To Shimamura has not yet been officially announced. Still, if it does, it would most likely run in late 2023, given season 1 ran from October 9, 2020, to December 25, 2020, and it generally takes 1-2 years to construct a new season.
Considering that no official announcements have been made yet, readers should view this as pure conjecture. Watch this space, though, since we’ll let you know when something formal is announced. The announcement is likely to come in the coming months.
