Overview of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War and a Look Back at Chapter 241
After the fall of the Shinomiya empire, Kaguya and her family vanished, and the school dance ended on a bitter note. We learn that most of her close relatives were acquitted of their crimes, but those who worked for them were held accountable.
When Chika’s friend Kaguya stops showing up for school, the four of them worry about him. Miyuki is reassured, but he also gets a warning that she will not answer his texts. This raises the question of how honest she truly is.
Her friends and boyfriend wish they could do more to aid her. Still, the manga manages to keep things grounded in reality by showing her friends and boyfriend realizing that they are only students and have no say in how things are run as an adult society.
The half-brother of Kaguya appears at the school’s gates, asking for Hayasaka. Un’yo Shinomiya insists on taking Miyuki with him since it’s the only way he can get a glimpse of Kaguya.
When they stop for burgers on the way, Miyuki is taken aback because such well-to-do individuals use drive-through restaurants.
When Kaguya’s brother inquires about her, he’s taken aback when Miyuki shows him pictures of her doing well in school, laughing and smiling at the camera.
He remembers her as being cold and calculating in the past, desperate to fit in with the Shinomiyas. She was cold and calculated. Could his statement that Kaguya is no longer helpful to him imply that he will let her be with Miyuki? – Assuming his motives haven’t changed, we’ll have to wait until Chapter 242 to find out for sure.
After Un’yo and Kaguya’s brother show Miyuki their elderly, bed-ridden brother, they complete Chapter 241 by showing Miyuki their brother.
But why is he displaying this to Miyuki in the first place? In this chapter, we hope to learn more about Kaguya and her family’s plans for her fate and future in the next chapter.
