At the conclusion of season 4, My Hero Academia Season 5 production was confirmed. Funimation later confirmed that preparations had begun in Japan.

Yuki Hayashi, along with other composers, announced that they had started recording the soundtrack for season five on July 8, 2020.

The official Japanese Twitter account confirmed that season 5 would air during Spring 2021, following Hero FES 2020 which took place on October 3, 2020.

Jump Festa 2021 revealed that season five would air in Japan on March 27, 2021.

Season 5 of My Hero Academia will feature 25 episodes.

It currently covers the Joint Training Arc. This will continue for the next few seasons.

Episode 19 of My Hero Academia Season 5 will air at 5:05 PM JST on August 15, 2021. The anime will be available for approximately 6 months and contain 25 episodes.

Funimation has acquired the license to My Hero Academia Season 5; they will stream the anime along with subtitles in Japan at the same time. Crunchyroll also has the anime, but it is an hour later than Funimation’s release time.
